JOHNNY SMITH

0-8.jpeg

Growing up, I spent most summers painting. My grandmother, who was a well known painter and poet in south Mississippi, planted the seed for my interest in art at a very young age. Around 1995 I started tattooing, and have been working and learning as much as I can in one way or another since then. Tattooing for so long, I’ve definitely seen some drastic changes in the industry, from the quality of tattooing to the quality of supplies available.

The most substantial improvement in my work to this point happened when I switched to Fusion. It was a night and day difference from what I had been previously using, and now I was able to apply painting techniques to my tattoos without worrying about my pigments ever causing issues. That definitely opened a lot of doors for me in my tattoos, and I take comfort in knowing that I don’t have to worry about any aspect of tattooing but myself, and I can focus on learning from the great artists I am lucky enough to work with in the Fusion family.
