LAURA JADE
Born and raised in Oregon, I am self taught, and have been tattooing since 2009. Although my early tattoos were heavily influenced by my years working with Mehndi art as a teenager, my focus shifted significantly after going on a tattoo tour through Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan in 2016.
I love large scale, colorful, Japanese inspired floral designs and patterns. I draw much inspiration from Kimono fabric and botanical woodblock prints from Japan. I use a lot of yellow outlines in my tattoos, exclusively Mixing yellow by Fusion Ink, which is what I have found works the best.
Most recently I have expanded my passion for tattooing toward publishing with Jeff Gogue. We have a quarterly tattoo trade journal called Olinjär Tattoo Journal which combines artist and client interviews with travel, food, tattoo lifestyle and philosophy. We are excited about the future in our new private space Olinjär Studio in Grants Pass, Oregon.
